Musket Corp. Opens Six Diesel Exhaust Fluid Facilities

(OKLAHOMA CITY, November 1, 2016) – Musket Corporation, the trading and logistics arm of the Love’s Family of Companies, recently opened its sixth Diesel Exhaust Fluid wholesale bulk rack in Morrow, Georgia. Musket currently operates six DEF terminals across the United States with plans to double that count by 2017.

Since 2010, diesel engine manufacturers have increasingly relied on selective catalytic reduction technology (SCR) to reduce nitrous oxide emissions from exhaust gases in response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Air Act. SCR technology requires DEF as an after treatment by spraying the fluid into hot exhaust gas after it passes through the diesel particulate filter. That mixture of hot exhaust gas and DEF then passes through a catalyst where harmful emissions are converted into nitrogen and water.

Musket’s DEF facilities are operational in Memphis, Tennessee; Kingman, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Louisville, Kentucky; and Morrow, Georgia. The facilities are strategically located close to Love’s Travel Stops stores to easily provide round-the-clock access to DEF. All facilities produce the highest quality product, meeting ISO 22241 standards.

Musket began producing DEF in 2014 to strategically address increasing market demand, supply redundancy concerns and logistical optimization opportunities. Since 2010, DEF has been available at the pump alongside diesel at all Love’s Travel Stop locations nationwide.
